Shed Slab

Shed Concrete Floors, and Garage Concrete Floors

Concrete slabs come in all shapes and forms, and each serves different purposes. Depending on their thickness and whether they’re poured on-site or come pre-fabricated, concrete slabs can be categorized into leaner, medium-sized, and large-sized slabs. It’s also worth mentioning that the size of the backyard shed you have in mind can also direct us to go for one slab type over the other.

It’s also worth mentioning that we follow the highest standards in pouring and curing concrete slabs. Though competitors might boast about how fast they can get the job done, at Skyco Group, we’re aiming to give you durable structures that last a lifetime.

For this reason, we don’t rush the process of drying the poured concrete slabs, and we let the underlying chemical reactions take their full course to deliver a more sturdy, crack-resistant foundation for your house.

If you have a construction project in Melbourne that requires concrete slabs installation, we’re the ones for the job. Contact us, and our knowledgeable technicians will help you set an appointment and get workers on the field as soon as possible.

We have been working with local councils for years and our pours meet specifications the first time every time.

Types of Shed Slabs

Leaner Slabs

As their name implies, leaner slabs come in a relatively slimmer profile and smaller overall size. For this reason, they can be conveniently fabricated off-site and then transported to the construction area once they’re ready.

When you request our concrete slab services, you’ll be prompted to schedule a suitable appointment for our skilled professionals to pay you a visit and take all the measurements they need for the concrete slabs to be produced.

Once the sheds are ready, we’ll reach back to you to schedule a date for installation. Since the time-consuming part, which is producing the slabs themselves, is already behind us, the process will be a walk in the park from here on.

Medium-Sized Slabs

Next up are medium-sized slabs. Such shed slabs can be either pre-fabricated, similar to what we’ve seen with their leaner counterparts, or constructed on-site. They are used primarily to create false floors. Such Raised floors can create a hidden compartment for electrical wires to pass through in a well-organized manner with no clutter.

Large-Sized Slabs

Finally, large-sized slabs are used in larger-scale projects like building a new extension for your house. For example, building a new garage requires concrete slabs of large dimensions to be poured on-site as the new structure’s foundation.

Furthermore, the large slabs need more time to dry out due to their sheer size and concrete bulk. You have to be patient, as any attempts to rush the process can lead to issues like cracking and shrinking concrete blocks. Finally, the shed slabs are then treated using special chemicals that help with proper curing and ensure the long-term durability of the structure.
